# Zipangu vs Saga

The clearest difference is update cadence: Saga at every 3 weeks against Zipangu's every 5 months. Saga also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and monetization model (free vs ad-supported). Zipangu's advantage is ratings volume (102 vs 3). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

Saga holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Zipangu has 102 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Zipangu ships an update every 5 months, Saga every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
