# My Diary vs PatchDoc

The clearest difference is rating: PatchDoc at 5.0 against My Diary's 4.4. PatchDoc also leads on ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). My Diary's advantage is ratings volume (36 vs 6) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 17.0). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. My Diary sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and PatchDoc sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

PatchDoc holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.4. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: My Diary has 36 ratings behind it against 6, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 86% of My Diary's written reviews are positive against 100% of PatchDoc's.

My Diary ships an update every 2 weeks, PatchDoc every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 18, 2026 respectively.
