# Fidel Amharic Keyboard vs ZapLock

The clearest difference is monetization model: Fidel Amharic Keyboard at freemium against ZapLock's subscription. Fidel Amharic Keyboard also leads on ratings volume (20 vs 1). ZapLock's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 2 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Fidel Amharic Keyboard sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and ZapLock sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ZapLock holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Fidel Amharic Keyboard has 20 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Fidel Amharic Keyboard ships an update every 2 weeks, ZapLock every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 29, 2026 respectively.
