# TechDad Player vs OneTV Connect

The clearest difference is rating: TechDad Player at 5.0 against OneTV Connect's 4.3. OneTV Connect's advantage is review sentiment (80% vs 50%) and ratings volume (8 vs 1). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. TechDad Player sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and OneTV Connect sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

TechDad Player holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.3. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: OneTV Connect has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 50% of TechDad Player's written reviews are positive against 80% of OneTV Connect's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 22, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
