Verdict
The clearest difference is rating: MIRAI at 4.5 against Smartbox's 3.7. MIRAI also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (30 vs 3). Smartbox's advantage is review sentiment (100% vs 64%). On price, update cadence, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. MIRAI sells 13 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and Smartbox sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
MIRAI holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: MIRAI has 30 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 64% of MIRAI's written reviews are positive against 100% of Smartbox's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.
MIRAI ships an update fortnightly, Smartbox every 3 weeks. Both last shipped on October 25, 2026.
