# Wisp vs Modex

The clearest difference is monetization model: Wisp at free against Modex's free with in-app purchases. Wisp also leads on ratings volume (7 vs 2). Modex's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and iOS requirement (16.4 vs 18.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Wisp sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Modex sells 5 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Wisp against 5.0 for Modex. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 7 and 2 respectively.

Wisp ships an update monthly, Modex weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
