# elyra vs Stella

The clearest difference is rating: Stella at 3.0 against elyra's 2.0. elyra's advantage is ads (none vs shown) and update cadence (fortnightly vs every 2 months). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. elyra sells 12 in-app purchases, starting at $9.90 per 7 days and Stella sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Stella holds the better App Store score, 3.0 against 2.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: elyra has 13 ratings behind it against 2, so its average is the more settled of the two.

elyra ships an update fortnightly, Stella every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
