# SMS io vs UCODE

The clearest difference is review sentiment: UCODE at 88% against SMS io's 11%. UCODE also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (4.7 vs 4.4). SMS io's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.0). On price, ratings volume, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SMS io sells 20 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per month and UCODE sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

UCODE holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 4.4. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 78 and 40 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 11% of SMS io's written reviews are positive against 88% of UCODE's.

SMS io ships an update weekly, UCODE every 3 weeks. The most recent releases landed on September 28, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
