# Flowmodoro vs Basil

The clearest difference is ads: Basil at none against Flowmodoro's shown. Flowmodoro's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 5 weeks). On price, in-app purchases, device support and iOS requirement there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Flowmodoro sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Basil sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Flowmodoro ships an update every 2 weeks, Basil every 5 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 1, 2026 respectively.
