# SubPulse vs Gecko Drums

The clearest difference is update cadence: Gecko Drums at every 10 days against SubPulse's every 3 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SubPulse sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $14.99 per year and Gecko Drums sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SubPulse ships an update every 3 months, Gecko Drums every 10 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
