# VideoGen vs Refined

The clearest difference is rating: Refined at 5.0 against VideoGen's 3.0. Refined also leads on review sentiment (100% vs 60%) and update cadence (every 4 days vs monthly). VideoGen's advantage is chart position (#178 vs unranked) and ratings volume (4 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. VideoGen sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and Refined sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Refined holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 3.0. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 4 and 1 respectively. Written reviews point the same way: 60% of VideoGen's written reviews are positive against 100% of Refined's.

VideoGen ships an update monthly, Refined every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
