# SkillCert vs Pengword

The clearest difference is update cadence: SkillCert at every 4 days against Pengword's every 2 weeks. SkillCert also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. SkillCert sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Pengword sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

SkillCert ships an update every 4 days, Pengword every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 25, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
