# WalkSpeak vs Stepdown

The clearest difference is review sentiment: WalkSpeak at 100% against Stepdown's 56%. WalkSpeak also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.5) and monetization model (free vs freemium). Stepdown's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 9 days) and ratings volume (56 vs 8). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WalkSpeak sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Stepdown sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $3.49 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

WalkSpeak holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stepdown has 56 ratings behind it against 8, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews point the same way: 100% of WalkSpeak's written reviews are positive against 56% of Stepdown's.

WalkSpeak ships an update every 9 days, Stepdown every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 19, 2026 respectively.
