# BarPad Mobile vs Asterode

The clearest difference is update cadence: Asterode at fortnightly against BarPad Mobile's every 2 months. Asterode also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BarPad Mobile sells 2 one-off in-app purchases and Asterode sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

BarPad Mobile ships an update every 2 months, Asterode fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and October 14, 2026 respectively.
