# Drones vs Etherpad

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Etherpad at none against Drones's 1. Etherpad also leads on update cadence (every 2 days vs every 10 days) and ratings volume (20 vs 3). On price, rating, ads and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Drones sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Etherpad asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Drones against 4.9 for Etherpad. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Etherpad has 20 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Drones ships an update every 10 days, Etherpad every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 6, 2026 and September 22, 2026 respectively.
