# Backtrack vs Papyr

The clearest difference is update cadence: Backtrack at every 3 weeks against Papyr's every 2 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Backtrack sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month and Papyr sells 3 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Backtrack ships an update every 3 weeks, Papyr every 2 months. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 21, 2026 respectively.
