# LilDisplay vs External Display Desktop

The clearest difference is update cadence: External Display Desktop at every 2 days against LilDisplay's monthly. LilDisplay's advantage is iOS requirement (15.6 vs 17.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. LilDisplay sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and External Display Desktop sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

LilDisplay ships an update monthly, External Display Desktop every 2 days. The most recent releases landed on October 30, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
