# Journal vs Typr

The clearest difference is ratings volume: Journal at 6 against Typr's 1. Typr's advantage is iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Journal sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Typr sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Journal against 5.0 for Typr. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Journal has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
