# Ore Empire vs Train Simulator 2

The clearest difference is rating: Train Simulator 2 at 4.6 against Ore Empire's 3.7. Train Simulator 2 also leads on ratings volume (86 vs 3) and update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). Ore Empire's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 40%) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.0). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Ore Empire sells 10 one-off in-app purchases and Train Simulator 2 sells 12 one-off in-app purchases. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Train Simulator 2 holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Train Simulator 2 has 86 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of Ore Empire's written reviews are positive against 40% of Train Simulator 2's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Ore Empire ships an update every 3 weeks, Train Simulator 2 weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
