# Text Message Export vs DropBeat

The clearest difference is rating: DropBeat at 5.0 against Text Message Export's 2.9. DropBeat also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 3) and device support (3 vs 1). Text Message Export's advantage is ratings volume (42 vs 1) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). On price and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Text Message Export sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. DropBeat asks for nothing beyond the download.

DropBeat holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 2.9. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Text Message Export has 42 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Text Message Export ships an update weekly, DropBeat fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 6, 2026 respectively.
