# TailLog vs FlightDeck

The clearest difference is rating: TailLog at 5.0 against FlightDeck's 4.5. TailLog also leads on in-app purchases (none vs 6) and ads (none vs shown). FlightDeck's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 5 weeks) and ratings volume (1.5K vs 5). On price and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. FlightDeck sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days. TailLog asks for nothing beyond the download.

TailLog holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.5. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: FlightDeck has 1.5K ratings behind it against 5, so its average is the more settled of the two.

TailLog ships an update every 5 weeks, FlightDeck every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 1, 2026 and October 26, 2026 respectively.
