# Tempo vs Phase

The clearest difference is monetization model: Phase at free against Tempo's freemium. Phase also leads on rating (4.8 vs 4.5) and ratings volume (6 vs 2). On price, review sentiment, update cadence and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Tempo sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Phase sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Phase holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.5. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 2 and 6 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Tempo ships an update monthly, Phase every 5 weeks. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
