# BarBlock vs MemoMail Pro

The clearest difference is monetization model: MemoMail Pro at free against BarBlock's paid. BarBlock's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks) and ratings volume (15 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Neither carries in-app purchases, so what you see is what you pay.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 4.9 for BarBlock against 5.0 for MemoMail Pro. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BarBlock has 15 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BarBlock ships an update every 2 weeks, MemoMail Pro every 6 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
