# GuardKit vs Surf

The clearest difference is update cadence: Surf at every 5 days against GuardKit's every 3 weeks. Surf also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (17.0 vs 26.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. GuardKit sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Surf sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

GuardKit ships an update every 3 weeks, Surf every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 28, 2026.
