# Self Notify vs Kite

The clearest difference is ads: Self Notify at none against Kite's shown. Kite's advantage is update cadence (weekly vs every 5 weeks) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). On price, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Self Notify sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $5.99 per year and Kite sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Self Notify ships an update every 5 weeks, Kite weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 8, 2026 and October 7, 2026 respectively.
