# StayGray vs Readrrr

The clearest difference is rating: Readrrr at 4.7 against StayGray's 3.7. Readrrr also leads on ratings volume (38 vs 3). StayGray's advantage is review sentiment (67% vs 29%) and monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, update cadence, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StayGray sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per month and Readrrr sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Readrrr holds the better App Store score, 4.7 against 3.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Readrrr has 38 ratings behind it against 3, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 67% of StayGray's written reviews are positive against 29% of Readrrr's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Both ship on a similar rhythm, roughly fortnightly. Both last shipped on October 24, 2026.
