# AltMail vs OpenInbox

The clearest difference is update cadence: AltMail at every 2 days against OpenInbox's every 5 days. AltMail also leads on iOS requirement (12.0 vs 15.1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AltMail sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month and OpenInbox sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AltMail ships an update every 2 days, OpenInbox every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 24, 2026 and October 25, 2026 respectively.
