# eMote vs Folio

The clearest difference is update cadence: Folio at every 3 days against eMote's every 3 weeks. Folio also leads on monetization model (free vs free with in-app purchases). eMote's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, review sentiment, ratings volume and ads there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. eMote sells 3 one-off in-app purchases and Folio sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $0.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

eMote holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 18 and 7 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

eMote ships an update every 3 weeks, Folio every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and October 2, 2026 respectively.
