# Kimchi Reader vs ShadowFlow

The clearest difference is update cadence: ShadowFlow at every 5 days against Kimchi Reader's every 2 weeks. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Kimchi Reader sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and ShadowFlow sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Kimchi Reader ships an update every 2 weeks, ShadowFlow every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and September 28, 2026 respectively.
