# DogTrainer vs Hely

The clearest difference is update cadence: Hely at every 5 days against DogTrainer's fortnightly. Hely also leads on device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.1 vs 18.0). On price, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. DogTrainer sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $7.99 per month and Hely sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $3.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

DogTrainer ships an update fortnightly, Hely every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 23, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
