# Notes vs Color Notes

The clearest difference is rating: Notes at 4.6 against Color Notes's 1.0. Notes also leads on ads (none vs shown) and ratings volume (5 vs 1). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Notes sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $39.99 per year and Color Notes sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Notes holds the better App Store score, 4.6 against 1.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Notes has 5 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.
