# AurePsi vs Private Journal

The clearest difference is monetization model: AurePsi at free against Private Journal's freemium. AurePsi also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 26.0). Private Journal's advantage is update cadence (every 6 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, rating, review sentiment and ratings volume there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AurePsi sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Private Journal sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

AurePsi holds the better App Store score, 4.8 against 4.6. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 9 and 23 respectively. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

AurePsi ships an update every 3 weeks, Private Journal every 6 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
