# StudyRecord vs Session

The clearest difference is ads: Session at none against StudyRecord's shown. Session also leads on update cadence (weekly vs every 3 weeks). StudyRecord's advantage is device support (3 vs 1) and iOS requirement (15.6 vs 26.0). On price and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. StudyRecord sells 1 one-off in-app purchase and Session sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

StudyRecord ships an update every 3 weeks, Session weekly. The most recent releases landed on September 26, 2026 and September 30, 2026 respectively.
