# Nerd Needs vs LVL

The clearest difference is ads: Nerd Needs at none against LVL's shown. LVL's advantage is update cadence (every 9 days vs every 3 weeks) and ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, rating, review sentiment and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Nerd Needs sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $19.99 per month and LVL sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Nerd Needs against 5.0 for LVL. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: LVL has 6 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.

Nerd Needs ships an update every 3 weeks, LVL every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on September 14, 2026 and September 18, 2026 respectively.
