# Bible Explained Study vs Parables

The clearest difference is monetization model: Bible Explained Study at freemium against Parables's subscription. Bible Explained Study also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.8). Parables's advantage is ratings volume (380 vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 days vs every 3 weeks). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Bible Explained Study sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Parables sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Bible Explained Study holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Parables has 380 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Bible Explained Study ships an update every 3 weeks, Parables every 5 days. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
