# PixComic vs VEX

The clearest difference is rating: VEX at 5.0 against PixComic's 4.0. PixComic's advantage is monetization model (freemium vs subscription) and update cadence (weekly vs every 6 months). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. PixComic sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days and VEX sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

VEX holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.0. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: PixComic has 8 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

PixComic ships an update weekly, VEX every 6 months. The most recent releases landed on October 31, 2026 and October 28, 2026 respectively.
