# CDL Expert vs CDL Prep

The clearest difference is update cadence: CDL Prep at every 3 months against CDL Expert's every 8 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL Expert sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and CDL Prep sells 1 in-app purchase, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CDL Expert ships an update every 8 months, CDL Prep every 3 months. The most recent releases landed on October 9, 2026 and September 29, 2026 respectively.
