# CDL Expert vs PermitPal

The clearest difference is update cadence: PermitPal at every 3 days against CDL Expert's every 8 months. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. CDL Expert sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and PermitPal sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

CDL Expert ships an update every 8 months, PermitPal every 3 days. Both last shipped on October 9, 2026.
