# Readrrr vs Year Progress

The clearest difference is monetization model: Year Progress at free with in-app purchases against Readrrr's subscription. Year Progress also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). Readrrr's advantage is ratings volume (22 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Readrrr sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Year Progress sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per year. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Year Progress holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Readrrr has 22 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Readrrr ships an update fortnightly, Year Progress weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 12, 2026 and October 9, 2026 respectively.
