# Sync vs Embers

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Sync at none against Embers's 4. Sync also leads on iOS requirement (15.1 vs 17.0). Embers's advantage is update cadence (every 2 weeks vs every 6 weeks). On price, ads and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Embers sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $4.99 per 7 days. Sync asks for nothing beyond the download.

Sync ships an update every 6 weeks, Embers every 2 weeks. The most recent releases landed on October 18, 2026 and October 3, 2026 respectively.
