# ArtWork vs Trace Drawing app

The clearest difference is rating: ArtWork at 4.5 against Trace Drawing app's 2.6. ArtWork also leads on ratings volume (86 vs 7) and update cadence (weekly vs fortnightly). Trace Drawing app's advantage is monetization model (free with in-app purchases vs subscription). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. ArtWork sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $1.99 per 7 days and Trace Drawing app sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

ArtWork holds the better App Store score, 4.5 against 2.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: ArtWork has 86 ratings behind it against 7, so its average is the more settled of the two.

ArtWork ships an update weekly, Trace Drawing app fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on November 6, 2026 and November 5, 2026 respectively.
