# Spektra IPTV Player vs Iris

The clearest difference is monetization model: Iris at free against Spektra IPTV Player's freemium. Spektra IPTV Player's advantage is device support (5 vs 3) and iOS requirement (13.0 vs 15.1). On price, rating, ratings volume and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Spektra IPTV Player sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month and Iris sells 1 one-off in-app purchase. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Spektra IPTV Player against 5.0 for Iris. Both are backed by a comparable volume of ratings — 1 and 1 respectively.

Spektra IPTV Player ships an update weekly, Iris fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 17, 2026 and October 24, 2026 respectively.
