# AbMaxx vs Specimen

The clearest difference is ads: AbMaxx at none against Specimen's shown. AbMaxx also leads on ratings volume (2.1K vs 1) and update cadence (every 3 days vs every 9 days). Specimen's advantage is rating (5.0 vs 4.7). On price, in-app purchases, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. AbMaxx sells 11 in-app purchases, starting at $6.99 per 7 days and Specimen sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Specimen holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.7. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: AbMaxx has 2.1K ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

AbMaxx ships an update every 3 days, Specimen every 9 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 20, 2026 respectively.
