# BibleGate vs Devotion Lock

The clearest difference is rating: Devotion Lock at 5.0 against BibleGate's 4.8. Devotion Lock also leads on iOS requirement (16.0 vs 26.0). BibleGate's advantage is ratings volume (20 vs 1) and update cadence (every 5 days vs fortnightly). On price, ads, in-app purchases and monetization model there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. BibleGate sells 10 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days and Devotion Lock sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Devotion Lock holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.8. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: BibleGate has 20 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

BibleGate ships an update every 5 days, Devotion Lock fortnightly. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 13, 2026 respectively.
