# Speed Reading vs Stasis

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: Stasis at none against Speed Reading's 3. Stasis also leads on ratings volume (65 vs 4) and iOS requirement (15.0 vs 26.0). On price, rating, review sentiment and update cadence there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Speed Reading sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per month. Stasis asks for nothing beyond the download.

On the App Store both sit at effectively the same score — 5.0 for Speed Reading against 4.9 for Stasis. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Stasis has 65 ratings behind it against 4, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews are what separate them: 100% of Speed Reading's written reviews are positive against 97% of Stasis's.

Speed Reading ships an update every 3 days, Stasis every 5 days. Both last shipped on October 31, 2026.
