# SpeedReader vs WoRD

The clearest difference is in-app purchases: SpeedReader at none against WoRD's 3. SpeedReader also leads on ads (none vs shown) and rating (5.0 vs 4.6). WoRD's advantage is ratings volume (10 vs 1). On price, review sentiment, monetization model and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. WoRD sells 3 in-app purchases, starting at $3.99 per 7 days. SpeedReader asks for nothing beyond the download.

SpeedReader holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: WoRD has 10 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews split almost evenly too, at 100% and 100% positive.
