# Aura vs DoomFree

The clearest difference is monetization model: Aura at freemium against DoomFree's subscription. Aura also leads on rating (5.0 vs 4.6). DoomFree's advantage is update cadence (every 4 days vs every 10 days) and ratings volume (9 vs 1). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Aura sells 6 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days and DoomFree sells 4 in-app purchases, starting at $2.99 per 7 days. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Aura holds the better App Store score, 5.0 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: DoomFree has 9 ratings behind it against 1, so its average is the more settled of the two.

Aura ships an update every 10 days, DoomFree every 4 days. The most recent releases landed on October 15, 2026 and October 8, 2026 respectively.
