# Zobi vs Primal Play

The clearest difference is monetization model: Primal Play at free against Zobi's subscription. Primal Play also leads on update cadence (weekly vs monthly) and ratings volume (435 vs 13). Zobi's advantage is rating (4.9 vs 4.6). On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Zobi sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $5.99 per month and Primal Play sells 5 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Zobi holds the better App Store score, 4.9 against 4.6. That said, the two scores are not equally well evidenced: Primal Play has 435 ratings behind it against 13, so its average is the more settled of the two. Written reviews complicate that: 75% of Zobi's written reviews are positive against 94% of Primal Play's, so the app with the better star average is not the one people write more warmly about.

Zobi ships an update monthly, Primal Play weekly. The most recent releases landed on October 5, 2026 and October 16, 2026 respectively.
