# The Homeschool Helper vs Scholarsnotes

The clearest difference is monetization model: Scholarsnotes at free with in-app purchases against The Homeschool Helper's subscription. Scholarsnotes also leads on update cadence (every 2 weeks vs monthly). The Homeschool Helper's advantage is ratings volume (6 vs 1). On price, rating, ads and in-app purchases there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. The Homeschool Helper sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $9.99 per month and Scholarsnotes sells 19 in-app purchases, starting at $14.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.
