# Leibniz Education vs Derive

The clearest difference is update cadence: Derive at every 3 days against Leibniz Education's fortnightly. On price, ads, in-app purchases and device support there is nothing between them.

Both are free to download. Leibniz Education sells 2 in-app purchases, starting at $7.99 per month and Derive sells 7 in-app purchases, starting at $8.99 per month. Whichever you choose, the download price is not the number that matters.

Leibniz Education ships an update fortnightly, Derive every 3 days. The most recent releases landed on October 28, 2026 and October 31, 2026 respectively.
